National Bikini Day
Did you know that this is the anniversary of the invention of the bikini!?!?!
On 5th July, 1946 a Parisian Fashion designer called Louis Reard unveiled a daring two piece swimsuit at the Piscine Molitor – a popular swimming pool in Paris.
Unable to find a professional model who would dare to wear the scandalously skimpy two-piece he turned to Micheline Bernardini who was an Exotic Dancer at the Casino de Paris and asked her to model the new fashion which Reard named BIKINI after he heard the news about a US Atomic Test that took place off the Bikini Atoll in the Pacific Ocean earlier that week.
So girls if there is ever a time to treat yourself to a new bikini its now!
